The College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity's International Conference and Exhibition was first held in 2018. Through this conference, the college seeks to discuss the latest scientific issues in the field of sports and develop solutions for them by inviting experts and specialists from around the world to participate in developing future plans and visions for sports.
This year, the College is holding the 6th International Conference and Exhibition on Sports Sciences and Physical Activity under the title "Hosting International Sporting Events" from 12-14/5/1447 AH corresponding to 3-5/11/2025. The conference is held in conjunction with global sporting events that resulted in the Kingdom winning the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, and other global events hosted by the Kingdom and followed by the world. The College saw the importance of holding the conference to discuss the scientific and economic aspects, investments, and employment in hosting this type of sporting event. The conference will discuss the importance of laws, regulations, and legislation related to hosting sporting events, keeping pace with modern developments in holding these events, ensuring governance, justice, and integrity in the sports field, studying the requirements for achieving security and safety during these events, and the role of artificial intelligence and technology in facilitating and developing the holding of events and providing entry and transportation for visitors and followers through modern smart applications.
Welcome to the 6th International Conference and Exhibition on Sports Sciences and Physical Activity, “Hosting Sporting Events: The World Cup as a Model,” which will be held from 12–14/5/1447 AH corresponding to 3–5/11/2025.
This year's conference takes place amid significant achievements and unprecedented successes made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the local, regional, and international levels. These accomplishments reflect the Kingdom’s status as one of the world’s leading countries in various fields, including sports. Internationally, the Kingdom has won the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup—the largest global sporting event. Regionally, Saudi Arabia has successfully organized several prestigious events, notably securing the hosting rights for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. Locally, the Kingdom has welcomed numerous international sporting events and world-class professional athletes, positioning itself as a major global destination for sports.
The sporting accomplishments of King Saud University, represented by the College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity, are a direct result of the generous support and leadership provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect them.
On the occasion of launching the 6th International Conference and Exhibition on Sports Sciences and Physical Activity, I am honored, on behalf of the College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity, to express our sincere thanks to His Excellency the Acting President of King Saud University, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Salman Al-Salman, for his continuous support and interest in the college's activities.
This international conference will host an elite group of local and international scholars, experts, and decision-makers who will address modern topics related to the hosting of sporting events in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Topics will include investment, financing, marketing, sponsorship, logistical support, artificial intelligence, governance and legislation, and more—contributing positively to the successful hosting of events such as the FIFA World Cup in participating countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We look forward to meeting you at this conference at King Saud University, where we will explore the latest scientific advancements, exchange perspectives, discuss sports-related issues, and propose constructive solutions on the local, regional, and international levels.
